Safety & Strength Testing
At Goody Paws®, your dog's safety is not an afterthought. It is built into every product from the very beginning.
Every harness, collar and lead in our range is designed to keep your dog safe, comfortable and secure without compromising on the style that makes Goody Paws® different. We believe beautiful accessories and properly tested safety standards should never be a choice between the two.
How We Test Our Products
We strength test our hardware, webbing and construction to give you real confidence not just reassurance.
Our products are tested as complete, finished items. Not just individual components in isolation. This matters because a buckle that passes a test on its own tells you very little about how the full harness performs under real-world pressure. We test the whole thing, assembled exactly as your dog will wear it.
What our testing covers:
Harness buckles tested to withstand significant force well beyond the demands of everyday walks, training and adventures.
Metal D-rings both front and back D-rings are tested under load to ensure they hold securely whether your dog pulls suddenly, changes direction, or you need to grab them quickly in an unexpected situation.
Collar hardware buckles and D-rings tested to the same high standard as our harness range.
Lead attachments swivel clips and D-rings tested to withstand forces that far exceed normal daily use.
All testing is conducted on finished products under controlled conditions. The results are used to guide our design and quality standards so that every batch we produce meets the same expectations.
What Strength Testing Means for You
Strength testing means that when you clip on your dog's lead and head out for a walk, you are not relying on hope. You are relying on hardware and construction that has been put through its paces properly.
It means the buckle that keeps your dog's harness on during a sudden lunge has been tested under far greater force than that lunge will ever create.
It means the D-ring you clip your lead to every morning has been assessed as part of a complete system not just a component sitting in a box.
It means you can focus on enjoying the walk.
Important Please Read
Our products are designed for everyday walks, training and general adventures with your dog.
They are not intended as a standalone management tool for extreme pulling, reactivity or aggression. If your dog has specific behavioural challenges, please seek guidance from a qualified, registered dog trainer who can support your dog's individual needs alongside the right equipment.
Strength testing does not make any product indestructible. All dog accessories are subject to normal wear and tear over time, and environmental conditions and regular cleaning will affect materials gradually.
We always recommend:
Checking your dog's harness, collar and lead before every walk. Look for any signs of fraying, cracking, damage to buckles or D-rings, or stitching coming loose.
Replacing any item that shows signs of wear or damage immediately. Never use a harness, collar or lead that is broken or compromised in any way.
It is the owners responsibility to check for wear and tear and the safety of the items you place on your pups.
Following our fitting guide to ensure the harness sits correctly on your dog. A properly fitted harness performs as tested. A poorly fitted one does not.
